Job Description:
A perfusionist manages and maintains the integrity of the extracorporeal circulation system and the adult patient's physiologic functions during any medical situation to support, or temporarily replace the patient's circulatory or respiratory functions; to include monitoring of critical variables, administration of a variety of therapeutic agents, blood and blood substitutes per protocol and perform an variety of adjunction techniques. The perfusionist is also responsible for the operation/management of the intra-aortic balloon pump and other life-support equipment. This position is located in Weston, Wisconsin with 50% call.
Job Qualifications:
Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited perfusion program.
(Education qualifications must be from a school whose accreditation is recognized by Marshfield Clinic)
License/Certification: Must be board certified by ABCP and licensed in Perfusion by the state of Wisconsin.
Experience: One to two years perfusion experience preferred. Must be competent by training/experience to safely conduct extracorporeal bypass on adult and pediatric patients. Must have a working knowledge of Heparin management, monitoring/ recording systems, intra-aortic balloon pumps, cell-saver and autologous blood techniques. Ventricular assist and long-term membrane oxygenator support training and/or experience desirable.
