Responsibilities
The perfusionist is responsible for supporting, supplementing, monitoring and treating a patients cardiopulmonary and circulatory system using extracorporeal circulation equipment. In addition coverage for liver transplantation operations, including venous bypass, and auto-transfusion.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelors degree and Graduate of an accredited School of Perfusion.
Licensure, Certification, Registration: Current Certified, or certification eligible by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion. Licensed, or licensure eligible in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
Knowledge of Hemotology, Hemodynamics, cardio pulmonart bypass machinery, auot-transfusion machinery, and pharmacology
Ability to assemble equipment used in perfusion
Experience: New graduates are eligible if they meet the licensure, certification requirements.
