STAFF PERFUSIONIST: (Req. 003968) University of Southern California, Department of Surgery, Los Angeles Provide all aspects of clinical extracorporeal cardiopulmonary surgery support and perform all duties associated with this occupation.
Requires completion of Accredited Training Program in Cardiovascular Perfusion & 6 months of experience as a Cardiovascular Perfusionist (in lieu of the above requirements, a Bachelor's or equivalent in Cardiovascular Perfusion Technology or a related major & 2 semesters of a clinical practicum for experience/training in cardiovascular perfusion techniques & technology are acceptable). Qualifying education/experience must have provided skills with centrifugal & roller pumps, IABP (datascope), autotransfusion techniques, tandem heart & ECMO. As per requirements for ABCP BC/BE, must have pumped at least 40 cases, including adult & pediatric aortic aneurysm/dissection w/DHCA & RCP, AVR/MVR/TVR/PVR repair, CABG/Off-pump CABGs, heart & liver transplants, heart port (MVR), LA-FA bypass, & VAD insertion cases.
