Description: The Perfusionist assumes responsibility on a 24-hour basis for all planning, implementation and evaluation of care fore the adult cardiac patient related to extracorporeal bypass, autotransfusion, intra-aortic balloon pump monitoring, VAD and ECMO monitoring and PTCA standby. Collaborates as part of the cardiovascular team with the surgeons, cardiologists, anesthesiologist and nurses to assure quality patient care. Provides care for adult (14 years of age and older) population. Education: Graduate of an accredited school of perfusion with at least two years experience and minimum of 200 unsupervised extra corporeal procedures. Certifications: Current certification from the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusionist Current BCLS certification
