Responsible for the operation
of the pump-oxygenator (heart lung machine) and related equipment used for
open-heart surgery, emergency trauma, and emergency heart patients (long-term
support); function as part of the Heart Surgery Team. Perfusion staff covers
2-3 hospitals 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
Position Requirements
Requires graduation from an
accredited extra corporeal perfusion program as dictated by the American Board
of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ABCP). Must have conducted 75 independent perfusions
at an accredited American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion training program
before employment.
Preferred Requirements
Prefer experience with
neonatal and pediatric patient populations.
