CARDIO PERFUSIONIST
Job Summary:
Operates extra-corporeal circulation equipment during any medical situation where it is necessary to support or replace the patients cardiopulmonary/ circulatory function and ensures the proper management of physiologic functions by monitoring the necessary variables.
Job Requirements:
Graduation from an accredited school of cardiopulmonary perfusion. Minimum of 2 years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and education. Certified or eligible to be certified by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion. Practices perfusion as defined as those functions necessary for the support, treatment, measurement or supplementation of the cardiopulmonary and circulatory system of the patient. Thorough knowledge is required in the following areas: anatomy and cardio-respiratory systems, specialized medical, mechanical and electronic equipment, medical, clinical and surgical procedures and practices, hospital organization and administrative policies and procedures. Requires analytical, organizational and oral and written communication skills. Accountable to the Director of the Operating Rooms.
